SA 13U Fall Ball Team Second Place in Cornwall Tournament

The 13U Angels were the runner-up to the Diamond Academy in the Cornwall tournament the weekend of August 30.  The Angels were 0-2 going into the final round-robin game when they pulled out a 7-0 victory over the Cornwall Orioles, just enough runs to advance to the semi-final.

Erik led the Angels to victory on the mound.  He allowed only two hits and 1 run over 3 innings striking out four.  Dong-Yi recorded the last six outs to earn the save for the Angels.  Chad went deep in the fourth inning to score a solo home run.  The Angels racked up eights hits in the game with Chad and Matteo leading the way winning the game 5-2 over the Tri-Lake Monsters.

In the final, against the Diamond Academy, the 13U Angels fell behind early and could not come back in a 8-0 loss.  The Angels struggled to contain two high-powered hitters on the Diamond Academy who hit three home runs on the day scoring the majority of the runs.  As the game progressed, the Angel hitters did solve the Diamond pitchers, with hits recorded by Matt, Matteo, Ben and Thomas.

The Angel's 13U Fall Ball Team continues to prove their resiliency and teamwork.  Great accomplishment in Cornwall, Angels!
